Annie Awards 2019

Το βράδυ του Σαββάτου, κατά τη διάρκεια τελετής που έλαβε χώρα στο UCLA’s Royce Hall στο Los Angeles ανακοινώθηκαν οι νικητές των 46ων βραβείων Annie, εν όψει των μεγάλων βραβείων της Ακαδημίας, στις 25 Φεβρουαρίου.

Η Sony κατόρθωσε να κερδίσει για πρώτη φορά το βραβείο της καλύτερης ταινίας animation, χάρη στο SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE, το οποίο κατάφερε να επισκιάσει τα δέκα βραβεία της Disney-Pixar, νικώντας και στις 7 κατηγορίες όπου ήταν υποψήφιο! Ίδιο αριθμό βραβείων απέσπασε και το Netflix, χάρη στη HILDA.

Επίσης, στην κατηγορία του καλύτερου storyboard σε τηλεοπτική σειρά, μοιραστήκαν το βραβείο το MICKEY MOUSE με το RISE OF THE TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES.

Όσον αφορά στα ειδικά βραβεία της κριτικής επιτροπής, το Winsor McCay Award, για τη συνεισφορά τους στην τέχνη του animation, έλαβαν οι Ralph Eggleston, Frank Braxton και Andrea Romano, το Ub Iwerks Award, για την τεχνική εξέλιξη στο animation, έλαβε ο Ton Roosendaal της Blender Open Source Animation Software, το June Foray Award, για τον αντίκτυπο στη βιομηχανία του animation, o Adam Burke, ενώ απονεμήθηκε έπαινος στον Jason Jones (AMERICAN DAD).
